Ok guys so I currently have a contract with Sprint for 2 lines, that expires in February, and right now I am really considering terminating my contact because Sprint sucks. I was looking at all of the droid model's, and compared all of them. From what I've seen the X is just to big, so its a toss up between the incredible and the 2. Which you think would be better? Sorry if this has been asked before. The other option would be to stay with Sprint, If there are any other worthy phones coming out in early 2011. Thanks in advance guys

Both phones are excellent devices. I suggest that you visit a VZW store and spend 30 or 40 minutes test driving the Incredible and Droid 2. One will convince you.

I have the X and love it...had the Incredible, however, battery life really was horrible. First things first...do you want a physical keyboard?

Some people say the Inc battery is fine. I know a coworker who is really bummed about battery life on the Inc.

The droid pro is coming out in early November too. Looks like a blackberry and is a global phone. Verizon's 4g network isn't far off either, with the Boston to DC area and California being some of the first areas being rolled out. So..wait for a phone that works on the new network, wait for a Droid Pro in November, or go for a Droid X or Droid 2 now. I've heard good things about the Samsung Fascinate as well.

Also worth considering is if you plan on rooting the phone to theme it and customize it in other ways too.

I don't know about this specific combination but this type of question is asked all the time and people frequently forget to include what they need/want. It's impossible to suggest which would suit you best without that info.

Sorry for not including certain details. About the key board, I don't mind, the times that I have used friends touch screens phones, the touch screen threw me off a bit, but I felt that I could get use to it. From what I read the X doesn't sound like it is for me as I have smaller than normal hands. I want a phone that I can use to post my blogs on, watch video's, and listen to music maybe the incredible isn't right because of its battery issues I don't know.
Would it make sense to wait till early 2011 to switch? Are there any phones on the horizon that will/might be better than the current droid trio?

I am not familiar with this, what does this mean, what can I do to the phone in terms of rooting it and customizing?

A month ago I would have told you hands down to get the droid 2 because of the keyboard, speed without having to root, etc., but now whenever i see this question asked now i tell people to wait a little longer because of the speculated phones coming out around the holidays and the beginning of the year. There are so many that will be faster and more efficient than any current phone out now. Also go to the store and play with the phones for a bit to see which one suits you if you have to get one now.

Just a note that he didn't name the thread that....he isnt trying to be rude to you

What ever you get, make 100% sure it is a Google Experiance phone ( NOT BING ) also do not buy a locked down phone that you cannot root...

The Carriers and Manufactures are trying hard to kill the openness of Android. I think in a year or two they will have locked the phones down to the point it will kill off any good reason to get an Android phone...

I was looking through Verizon's lineup for Q4, and 2011 Q1, and haven't seen anything very impressive, am I overlooking something?
Which phone's are unrootable right now, and do I do that myself?
Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm going to say something about rooting that may raise some eyebrows but I've said it before. Rooting can allow you to do more things on your phone and there are some apps that are available for rooting only that I wish I had, but as far as adding a custom rom goes, I truly think that a lot of that is just placebo.

I'm currently running a stock D2 and Im very happy with it.
