Since the OP was looking for some tips and all he got was a bunch of braggers
...I throw one in:
Toothpaste - Not the gel stuff...Old fashioned toothpaste - It has alumina trihydrate which acts as a very mild abrasive.
I use it on my watch crystal and eye glasses for tiny (repeat) tiny scratches.
I've also used it on an ipod touch and a PSP (before I got screen protectors)
I havent used it on a Droid so I don't know how the Gorilla glass will respond, but for most glass surfaces I do the following:

Put a small dab on the glass and work it into the scratch with a moderately heavy hand using a soft cloth. I use a swirling motion. Some disagree to that. A few applications usually does the trick
