SiriusXM App Problems?

Is anyone else having problems with the SirusXM app timing out after just a couple of minutes? Every time I use this it shuts off after maybe 2 or 3 minutes? Any fixes / suggestions?

Does it come back and start repeating itself over and over again? If so there is a fix for that. But you will have to do some work with a system file.

Thanks to Booch_21 (and others) I was able to get it to work perfectly. I enjoyed 2 hours of uninterrupted XM yesterday. Booch_21 already laid out the instructions but I'll post a simplified version anyway.

Here's what I did:


1) Purchase and install easyroot (i'm lazy and easyroot is cheap)
2) Root phone
3) Reboot
4) Purchase and install root explorer
5) Use root explorer to edit /system/build.prop
6) Change the line media.stagefright.enable-player=true
to media.stagefright.enable-player=false
7) Reboot
8) Play O and A on XM202
9) Enjoy loop-free explicit comedy.

Thank you for the response Supr. I just tried XM again and after about 3 minutes it just loses the signal and doesn't return. I'm a total noob and a bit paranoid about rooting my phone, is this normal? Seems like quite a risk to take for someone with no clue what they're doing. Lol. I wonder if the 2.2 version may fix this bug. I supposed I'll wait for the update and see what happens.

Yeah my response was strictly if you have rooted. If you haven't then your right it will likely be fixed in their 2.2 release. Did you go to their site and sign up to be emailed once it comes out?

Thanks supr, I had those damn loops. Love listening to sirius when i go running and stuff but those loops really got annoying and started using Last.fm because of it. Went for a run this morning and all was working perfectly!

Ok...so I do this (I use Astro's file editor) and I save it, but it immediately switches back to true? Any ideas?

Easy Root is no longer supported with Android 2.2 Does anyone have another simple way to root this thing? Obviously they're on to us.
