After installing Froyo, my SiriusXM app started to skip. Randomly plays back 10 or so seconds of the current song. Ok if you are really into it but gets annoying.

Anyone know if an updated Sirius/XM app is coming out soon?
Thx

That is the decision of the developer. Have you visited the developer site to see if they have any info or a place to leave comments? If they receive enough inquiries it may expedite an update.

Sirius posted on their website there is an update pending. you can sign up for email notification. There is a fix posted in the meantime, involving editing the build.prop file if your running a rooted rom. Otherwise you have to wait for them to catch up.

Froyo actually fried any streaming music that uses AAC+. That includes Pandora. It kinda sucks. And the solution kinda sucks too because it doesn't always work, and it lowers benchmark scores on the phone.

What is the solution? I haven't read anything about a fix, so definitely curious! Thanks!

maybe its the Sirius app itself... When I downloaded the trail version, it was skipping and buffering constantly, which was why I decided not to pay the 2.99 for it.

You didn't look hard enough! dancedroid It involves rooting and making the fix that bypasses the problem.

My eyes have failed me for a second time today! haha Thanks for the link. I'm rooted, so I guess I'll see what this involves.

If you root and make the change it fixes the app with no issues. I listen to Opie and Anthony every day and would cry without it... dancedroid

P.S. root explorer is a good app to have

With the sirius app can you listen to NFL games and Nascar races?
I know on the website you get neither but you can get 100 & 101
I had my sirius radio stolen and have been using Xiia for 101 and music. I would pay for the sirius app if I get the NFL and Nascar.

I gave the Sirius app a spin on my phone, but it would only play for about 10 minutes MAX and then it would just start repeating the last 3 minutes i heard over and over and over and over. It sucks too because I have Sirius in the car I take to work but I don't have it in the car I use for road trips.

I'll give it another look down the road. I've had Sirius now in one form or the other for the past 7 years.

I'm rooted and running Froyo

That is a fixable issue. You will need "Root Explorer" or an equivalent .apk to make the changes.

Same lineup as the online lineup. No races or games, just the talk channels for NFL and MLB.

Ditto..for the most part, especially the repeating...ugh. When the app came out, I transferred my sirius receiver to my wife's car and use the droid app in my truck (with a Motorola T505 bluetooth to fm transmitter). I rooted today and might just activate the wifi tether and use my iTouch (and the sirius/xm app there) until they get the droid app updated.

Anyone know where on the sirius site you can sign up for the email notification when they get it resolved?
