I currently have the OG Droid and I saw this phone was only $99 at Costco. My only gripe is that it's not 4G and LTE will be in my area by end of year.

I have loved it. I skipped on 4g for now even though is in my area. Sounds like a lot of people are turning it off anyway. Plus, I'm the type who likes to see things established for awhile so I don't have to deal with the growing pains.
I bought this phone, and love it. However if you want to root it and custom rom it this phone might not be for you. I bought it thinking there would be alot of love for it since there was alot for the original Dinc. This phone has been out almost a month and theres no root for it yet. Im thinking i should have stuck with my tbolt.
I had an OG Droid, and I love this incredible 2. Great upgrade coming from a OG Droid, the performance is night and day compared to my OG Droid. Worth every penny in my opinion, especially if you can get it for 100.00.
I skipped on 4g as well for the same reasons as the poster stated above and some other reasons such as battery consumption etc.
I was always a moto fan but this phone has won me over to HTC. I can tell they really put their time into sense and I gotta say, I'm a fan now.
Forget 4G right now. 3 phones worth hunting this summer DX2, Dinc2 or Droid 3. Only 4G that would be worth looking at is Bionic and that looks like a Q4 launch.
That's surprising that there is no root yet. I think not being able to root would be a deal breaker for me...
Also, the Droid X2 is just becoming available and there are other new phones supposed to be coming out next week. Time will tell if these will be rooted...
+1 for holding off on 4G for now. I know two people with the thunderbolt and they have to charge the phone while at their desk or turn off 4G to maintain respectable battery life. For typical functions (email, internet browsing, facebook, etc...), the 3G with the incred2 is fast enough. I'm able to stream video from mlb.com and navigate through many network based apps pretty quickly.
I've had this phone for a week and I love it. It's my first smartphone and now I can't imagine how I lived without it.
Is the out of memory flaw fixed in the Incredible2??
Doing a hard reset and reloading is a big pain on my Incredible 1. And I lost all my high game scores!
