Should I just ROOT my phone?

I am sorta bored of 2.1 Sense, and even Sense at all. I am looking for something different, like a new software look, like the GS3. I am considering this because of HTC's massive update delay. Should I ROOT my phone? What are the risks?

I am wondering the same question, I have a droid 2 that is rated and love it but I have a droid incredible 2 and wonder if the Verizon bloatware can be removed if you root ..

I have a basic root on my phone just to get rid of bloatware and it was pretty simple. This is a good resource for that. I have flashed some ROM's in the past with few problems, but right now I am running stock with the bloat removed. I didn't really see a reason to run CM7.2 or a GB ROM after that, and the three or four ICS ROMs out there are good, but very unpolished.
