i deleted this app after a few months of use.

happy to report improved battery performance, no reboots or hickups since ....

used to hit the bed with 90% and wake up to find 70-60%, now the drop is only 10% overnight.

wow, I have run setcpu for months as well with quite a few profiles enabled. I haven't had any issues though. Actually I installed it when trying to gain more battery life and I was convinced that this app helped mine greatly. I can go to bed at full charge and wake up at 90% also. (which wasn't the case when I installed this and a few other apps)

Weird, I guess different phones do different things. Glad you noticed an improvement though.. hey, whatever works, right?

Do a lot of people have this problem with setcpu?

i think built-in throttling was conflicting with setcpu .... i figured id see how the phone does without it for a while.

used titanium to freeze other system apps i dont need ....

just doing a process of elimination

I use Jrummy's Overclock App, its $1.50 in the market but so worth it. Many more options than setCPU including undervolting which helps to save battery. When you used setcpu did you use profiles? If not then that might be why you had worse battery life with it.

i used profiles. played around w different speeds as well. seems the phone feels better without it

Don't forget that the order (Priority) of the profiles is very important with SetCPU.

IE: If you have a Screen Off setting you have to make sure it is at the top of the list because if there is something else above that profile the above setting will take priority.

>50% Battery = 1000 Will set the clock to 1000 even when the screen is off if it appears above the Screen Off = 300 setting.

Under normal use without any cpu clocking app, I would get 6 hours of battery life under normal usage for me (which is pretty heavy usage) and with set cpu and droid overclock installed I get 12-14 hours on just about the same usage

ULV is even better..... if your phone can handle it anyways.

i use the BP7X extended battery with mine. usage indicates just over 4 hrs since last unplug and i'm @ 90%.

i'll test it out overnight from a full charge then i'll take a screen shot and post up here when i hit 50% so you can see my usage.

i'm running the stock motoblur rom, rooted, with some items frozen .... i am also using the Nexus S Revamped live wallpaper.

heres my usage after about 11 hrs. overnight .... the alarms used some power because i didnt dismiss/snooze them.

edit: this is from 100% to 50%

new here...

this is my first post. i've been a member of the droid world for all of a week and battery life on my d2g is main priority thus far (after rooting of course).

i just wanted to chime in regarding this thread:

original battery life - 7/8 hours
after juice defender- 55 hours!

i added setcpu with 5 profiles just now on a full charge and will post the life i get, be it more or less, when the phone dies

thanks droidforums and all members, i have been reading posts religiously for a week now and have found ALL kinds of help. totally unrelated to battery life but hopefully we'll get some fully functional roms for d2g's soon!

i purchased the droid overclock app but looks like it doesnt work on my D2G. i noticed that the app can only change 4 cpu slots while d2g originally has 5. no matter how i change the slot settings the cpu bar always shows the default cpu value...well. went back to setcpu.

i have been experiencing dramatic problems with my droid 2 global battery life and cant figure out what my problem is. i have my brightness all the way down, gps, wifi, bluetooth all that good stuff is turned off. my sync for facebook is on "never", i do that manually to conserve battery. i have drained it completely one time since i got my phone a week ago. i use Juice Defender, but should i? and use task manager as my task killer. i have to charge my phone like 2 times a day. i get like 4 hours of battery life on it with just texting nonstop and browsing for a few minutes here and there. i dont know what my problem is and is very frustrating to me! if someone could please help me that would be great!!
