Separate contacts for Exchange and Gmail??

Gang,
I just got my Incredible 2, coming from an iPhone generation 1 that was given to me.

On the iPhone, if you connect to an Exchange server, it dumps all your contacts and replaces them with what is in Exchange. Does the Droid keep these separate?
