sensitive screen

Ok..I'm tired of hanging up on ppl or muting them. Does anyone know of an application or a way to lock the screen while having a conversation?

What phone are you using, and is it less than a year old? It sounds like you have a bad proximity sensor. On the Droid 1, for example, it's at the top of the screen on the right. It's function is to turn the screen off when the phone is against your face.
