sending pics via text

I have had my Razr for less then a week. I have sent a few pics via text with no issues. Today I tried to text a a few pics and the message I got was "3 items waiting to upload - Wi-Fi is off or unavailable" I have never used or even activated the Wi-Fi feature. 4G was in blue the whole time. About thirty minutes later I received a text response to the pics. So at some point, they sent, however the message is still at the top of the phone.

Can someone please explaine the Wi-Fi issue and also now that the message has been sent, how do I remove the message at the top?

Have you tried rebooting yet?

When you say reboot, do you just mean to power off and back on? If so, yes I just did and the message is still there.
