When I go to "all apps" and then click on the search icon, I get the following error:

The application Homescreen (process com.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Only option is to Force close. After this, the phone does NOT work correctly. I end up having to power it off and then back on. The error, so far, only happens when I am in all apps and I press on search.
