Voice search force close on Froyo HELP!

As title, I get an error message saying that voice search (process com.google.android.voicesearch) has stopped unexpectedly, and gives me an option to force close it.

Does anyone know what to do?

I was thinking of removing the Voice Search.apk in my phone and putting in another Voice Search.apk from another ROM. Would that work?

If so, how would I go about uninstalling the Voice Search on my phone? The "uninstall" button is greyed out in applications > manage applications, unlike the 3rd party apps that I installed.

Edit: This happens when I try to voice search in the Car Home (GPS) feature.

I had this same issue a while back when I was running a 2.1 rom.

The solution at the time was to use a Startup Cleaner which cleared cache files of the Voice Search app.

Oh, hm.

Well, I managed to fix the problem by removing VoiceSearch.apk from /system/apps/ and then pushing a new VoiceSearch.apk from a fresh FRF84B.
