SD Card came out. Now it's not recognized?

A co-worker for whatever reason took his SD Card out of his Doid. Now after he booted his phone back up it isn't recognized as being there. I told him to try and reboot to see if that works, and nothing. He is running stock 2.1. Any help is appreciated.

try to clean off the memory card, when the phone has the battery pulled hold the power button for fifteen seconds

what does holding the power button do with the battery pulled.. fully drain the capacitors or what?

Power cycling the Droid.... Most of the "Power" hold options (on devices) is to cycle down the power.
