The closest thing to the retina display will be superamoled screen. The bionic will have a pentile screen that will be very bright but reveal (to some) significant pixelation on closer inspection.

I'll see if I can find the article, but lg makes the retina displays and recently got the ability to distribute them other phone makers so I think we'll see it sooner than later
