Think Motorola had a great Q2? Wait until you see the figures posted today by Samsung! Samsung, the world's largest chipmaker, bolstered that they shipped 63.8 million handsets in Q2 alone, and 19 million of which were "touchscreen" devices. Samsung also recorded an estimates-breaking operating profit of $4.23 Billion USD. And in June, Samsung shipped 500,000 Galaxy S devices. Worldwide Recession? What recession?
Also noted today during the earnings call, Samsung will be unveiling its next generation Samsung Galaxy S Two sometime "next year." No mention of the Galaxy S Tablet though, sadly.
