samsung note 2 internal memory

recently bought a new note 2 ( UK ) however when i booted the phone up it showed as only having 10.36gb free internal memory.... i thought the phone was a 16gb model.

so does anyone know why the phone would report this memory size>?

i have tried a full update to jellybean 4.1.2 and it has not resolved the issue!

any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.. That's about right.. They throw all their basic stuff on.. I currently have 7GB available .. For me it's enough bc I don't keep anything internal.. My apps I don't have too many games.. There are ways to flip internal to external (sd card capacity becomes internal) but root is required...

Thanks bjdodger. Just found it a bit strange..... cus when u inserted my 16gb sd card it showed 14.4 gb usable. Ur help is appreciated.
