According to the folks at DisplayMate, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge have the best performing OLED smartphone display in the entire mobile industry. They ran both devices through the ringer in a battery of tests, and the new flagships from Samsung unseated the previous champion (from last year), which also happened to be a Samsung device: the Galaxy Note 4.

In fact, the folks at DisplayMate were so impressed by the OLED display from Sammy, they are calling it the best smartphone display ever made. Not bad Sammy! Reports from journalists around the web who were at the Samsung launch event all say the same thing... that you have to see the display in person to realize how impressive it is. We are looking forward to it!

Is there a comparison to the Nexus 6 screen. I'm personally in love with my screen. Was using my phone in bed with the lights off and the screen went black as I started up and app and the phone disappeared. No glow of black or screen bleed on the edges.

That's the power of Amoled for ya. I personally don't see the reason why it's not the display of choice for ....anything. TV's to Smartwatches. Being able to display true black is incredible.

The S6 is a very very nice looking phone....I just can't get over no removable battery or expandable memory....smh@Samsung...

I've noticed too that technology is becoming less and less "geeky" and more "sexy". Just look at the new Macbook. Sure, it's great to have options on your device, but the more options, the less sexy it becomes. I think like everything we are rising up the curve, and then one day, we will fall back down, and devices will be released again with the options they once had.

Speaking of expandable memory, has anyone used this or similar (wireless storage) yet with a smartphone?
If so, is it better than an Sdcard?

Samsung Galaxy S6 is Tied with the Galaxy Note 4 for Best Display in the Industry According to DisplayMate

Fixed the title of the thread for you. ;)

From the DisplayMate write up: "The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4 are neck-and-neck record holders for display performance, effectively tied or alternating between first and second place in almost all categories."

While one could arguably say that the S6 tops the Note 4 because of its slightly higher PPI due it's smaller screen size, it's a tie as far as DisplayMate is concerned.

I'm sure there will be in the near future, but until they pop up online, look to the comparisons of the Note 4 screen and the Nexus 6 screen to get a nearly spot on idea. The S6 is using the same type of panel with the same resolution as the Note 4. The only difference is the size (which impacts PPI slightly as well).

The Note 4 screen is better than the Nexus 6 screen, the Nexus 6 uses the standard Amoled screen, while the Note 4 and S6 use the latest Super Amoled screens.
