To make it easier to decide what DVD Catalyst 4 profile is best for your device, and to give you an idea of what your device is actually capable of in terms of video playback, I converted a couple of trailers using different settings.
Besides selecting the actual device profile, I did enable “enable streaming” so you can just visit the link on your device, and the video will stream. Due to the high-quality settings used for the conversions, the files are a bit large, so I would strongly recommend using WiFi rather than 3G to watch the clips. 4G should be able to handle it, however, unless you have a real “unlimited” plan, WiFi would be better.
For all conversions, I used the 1080 versions of the trailers, but for a few samples I changed the resolution to match that of the intended video source to give you a proper comparison of the resulting quality.
The sources I used:
A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas - Movie Trailers - iTunes
The Amazing Spider-Man - Movie Trailers - iTunes
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 - Movie Trailers - iTunes
Edit: For some reason, the forum doesn't like spaces in the actual links.
