running apex 1.0.2.2 wanting to upgrade to apex 1.3.1

im getting notifications for the new ota how can i go about upgrading then installing 1.3.1 properly i've seen a few threads but none that i fully understand.

Do you know how to restore your phone to the stock droid x rom? You need to do that first, then update your phone and THEN installing the new apex rom

There are tons of posts on this. You'll need to do what the post above this one says. Either using a stock nandroid backup that you've made, sbf, or you can flash a stock odexed 2.2.315 rom.
