A new rumor suggests that Samsung may actually completely skip holding their Unpacked keynote press event at Mobile World Congress this year. Apparently, they plan to hold their own mega-event sometime afterward, and will likely announced a number of different devices as they build up to their huge SGS4 announcement. They will still have a booth in Barcelona during the conference, but these sources claim they will skip their usual activities in favor of the larger "Apple-like" event, and their booth will be minimal at best.
Although the idea of Samsung holding their own event for the launch of the SGS4 is not really that surprising, it's still out of the ordinary for Sammy to not hold an Unpacked speech at MWC. Of course, for now, this is just a rumor that will likely remain unconfirmed until MWC in a few weeks. Now that Samsung and Apple are holding most of the chips in the mobile-world's "poker game," it appears they will attempt to dictate the course of the game.
