Here's an exciting news piece for today. Of course this could easily be a fake, so we will call it a rumor for now, but it's definitely worth sharing. A new image of the Samsung Galaxy S IV complete with a list of specs was supposedly leaked today. Here's the spec-list:
  • 5-inch 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED+ Display
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • 2GHz A15 Exynos 5450 quad-core CPU
  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • ARM Mali T658 GPU
  • 16/32/64GB storage options
  • Removable SD card slot (up to 64GB)
  • 13MP rear-facing camera
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • 4G LTE support
  • Multi-purpose / Dedicated camera button
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Front speakers
  • 3100 mAh battery
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI
For the most part, these specs seem similar to leaks and speculation we have heard about previously. However, there is one glaring difference. The processor shown is not the Exynos 5 Octa-Core we heard about from Samsung. It's possible that chip was not quite ready for Samsung's "Next Big Thing," and we may end up seeing it in the SGS5 next year instead. Regardless, several of these features put this device very close to the "Holy Grail" of phones, although the final feature that would put it over the top, a removable battery, is not detailed.

Hmm, hoping they put in the new Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor over this one.

Exynos 5 Octa supposedly uses 70-percent less power than a typical quad-core Cortex A15 processor

Very nice, but no need to upgrade from my S3, might get one on the cheap one year from now, and that's a big might.

If I can get a decent amount from selling my Note 2 and Verizon doesn't lock it as tight as Alcatraz, I may pick it up.

Might be the RTW version. Im sure the US version will be different. Just like it currently is with the S3.

I would never ever buy a phone with onscreen buttons. I think Samsung is smart enough to have just changed the physical home button to an oh so sweet disappearing capacitive button like the back and menu buttons on the galaxy s3.

This thing is @#$@#$!@#$ sweet!!!!

That said, the little things have me skeptical. Details like the MaliT658 GPU, the front facing speakers, dedicated Nokia-like camera button and a 3100mah Maxx-like battery in an oh so svelte Gnex-like curved profile. When was the last time a phone manufacturer gave us everything we asked for?
