Rooting Droid X with froyo 2.2

so far i have ran into nothing but difficulty trying to root this phone, i am unable to locate the adb and i have installed the sdk for windows.....i am lost

I tried to use the way with the SDK and could not get it to work.
I have rooted my phone with option 2 A on the other post though. It is pretty easy just go through step by step and make sure you include the spaces on the line commands.

Ok, so far I managed to get to the permissions, this is were I hit a wall. I was able to run doroot on charge only. The downside is that I'm not sure if that is what's effecting everything. So far you've both been extremely helpful, and thanks for bearing with me, total f'n noob
