Rooting 101?

Can some one please tell me the exact reason root there phones and if some one could give me pros and cons why or why not. Also if got could breakdown how to riot the Droid incredivle.

it does a while bunch. I'm new to rooting myself though. did it on 6 days ago and found a lot of help on here and YouTube that made it really simple for me.

It's pretty simple. Just follow this exactly and you won't have any issues. I did this two days ago and it was the smoothest root job I've ever done.

I rooted to get rid of those stupid stock Apps like Skype and Peep. Also increased battery life and I use wireless tether to connect my laptop wherever I go. Plus tons of appearance mods to make others jealous.
