I was reading a thread about battery life.. A guy said he rooted and flashed with eclipse..
Can someone explain this to me
Can someone tell me how to root.. I want better battery life.. I'm on it a lot is there even anything i can do? I'm charging it in the middle of the day after it was on charger all night before.

Rooting alone won't help your battery life. Yes some ROMs have been reported to improve battery life. I'd recommend you do some research on rooting your phone before you do it. There is a lot of info available on the web...just google it. After you understand thru some research then you can decide if the benefits and the cons are worth it for you

Thanks.. I will do that
Here is a good place to start your research: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/. It's a section on this forum. Some good information there and some links to additional information. Searching the web for more information is also a good idea as recommended. The more you understand what you can do with a rooted phone, how it is done and the benefits and risk the more comfortable you will be in what ever decision you make. All to many new users get a Droid and the very first thing they do (almost) is root it because someone told them that is what you're suppose to do. Because they don't understand that root by itself does nothing, they immediately expect to see a difference in their phone...well there is no noticeable difference. It is what you do after root. That is where they get into trouble. Root is safe, installing and running apps that allow you to freeze unwanted apps/bloatware is safe, flashing a custom ROM is generally safe IF you have the right software and a pretty good understanding of the process. Most important is the knowledge of how to recover when things don't go as planned...and sometimes they don't. It is not rocket science, but you can brick your phone if you do something wrong due to a lack of understanding, software and research. Good luck.
