I am currently rooted running Alliance Rom. My phone is an AT&T currently running 4.4.2. What I was wondering is should I update to 4.4.4 or just wait for 5? Is there anything new added on 4.4.4 or is it just a bug fix/root killer? Also if I do update to 4.4.4 is there any way to do it without losing all my data and having to reroot and restore everything? It always seems like nothing is ever quite the way it was before after a restore even using Titanium Backup Pro to back-up and restore. Thanks for your help!

No, you cannot update and keep everything "as is". 4.4.4 fixed at least one security exploit that I can remember.

You would have to flash 4.4.4 via Odin on your PC, reroot, then bring your apps, etc back using TBU and or Kies.

Be sure to make a Nandroid first and check and see if 4.4.4 is even rootable (depending on your model/carrier)

Okay. Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into it further.
