I'm just about ready to flash my first rom. My phone is rooted I have titanium backup android prozip and root explorer pro. wifi tethering is up n running, as I do my research I find that there seems to be two camps use a rom manager and don't use a rom manager it seems to me that it's a matter of personal preference or is there a technical reasons for using 1 method over the other?

From what I've read
..your better off not using one and follow the install directions from the op
..each one is dependant on the rom chosen

ROM Manager is merely a nice front end to clockwork, but bootstrap is all that's needed. In ROM Manager you can rename a backup prior to making it, which is the only thing its good for on the X. Bootstrap is a simple app to use.
