Rom help.

Pardon me, but I am a bit of a noob and just flashed my first ROM. I flashed Gummyjar and restored my X just to make sure I could do it correctly. My question is, after I have flashed a Rom do I need to re-download all of my apps or is there a way to back them up and restore them all after the Rom has been Installed. Thanks for any help.

There's an app called Titanium BackUp from the Market. There's a trial and a pro version. That works pretty good for me for backing up/restoring apps. I think the google account might sync with the apps that you have downloaded/bought as well but I'm not guaranteeing anything with that since I don't know their process.

+1

and with TiBu, you can back up data along with the app for a lot less down time

I have that, but after I flashed the Rom Titanium back up was no longer in my app menu. I went to the market and re-installed it but it still wouldn't show up in the menu. I tried to open it from the market and it wouldn't open.

well you have to backup your data before installing a ROM or its gonna do nothing.

and i keep the .apk file on my sdcard so after ROMing i can just install that and do a restore.

Okay. I thought I did that, but maybe I didn't do something right. I'll try it again. Thanks!

make sure you have usb debugging enabled in settings and busybox installed (theres an option in the app - click "problems" in the app to install)
