Ringer volume

I'm about to become a new Droid X owner and needless to say, I am very excited. One question for you guys:

A few months back I read that some people claim the phone's volume ringer or ringtones is/was extrememly difficult to hear because it is was very low, even when turned all the way up. They spoke of a possible update to correct this. So my question is, has the issue been resolved or has this not even been an issue for most of you????

I am having that problem.
Recently, with the phone set at the loudest ring setting, it is barely audible. I also have it set to vibrate and that helps some, but the ringer is UNSAT.

Ive noticed my ringer/alarm is sometimes veeery quiet. Whats actually happening is the sound is being routed through the earpiece instead of the speaker on the back. Its caused by poor programming so theoretically can be fixed through updates
