If you've never exported your Verizon Wireless Backup Assistant Contacts to your gmail account, follow these steps to restore those Backup Assistant Contacts.
This will only work if you have previously synced your [COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important][COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important]old [/FONT][COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important]phone[/FONT][/COLOR][/FONT][/COLOR][/COLOR] using the Verizon Backup Assistant program

Step 1
- Log into http://www.getbackupnow.com
- Click on 'Export to CSV' located in the top right
- Save the file in a known location, like your desktop
Step 2
- Assuming you have already hooked up phone up to [COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important][COLOR=#CC9933 ! important][FONT=inherit ! important]gmail[/FONT][/FONT][/COLOR][/COLOR], open up your [COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important][COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important]gmail [/FONT][COLOR=#cc9933 !important][FONT=inherit !important]account[/FONT][/COLOR][/FONT][/COLOR][/COLOR]
- Click on 'Contacts' in the left column
- Click 'Import' in the top right
- Select the csv file that you just exported
- Select any group that you may want and Click Import
- Make sure you contacts have loaded correctly into Gmail
- On your Droid, go to Contacts > Menu > Accounts - under Manage Accounts make sure your gmail account "Sync is ON".
- Your contacts should import to your phone and all should be well at this point
