Screen is cracked, trying to figure out if the digitizer can be replaced by itself or if I need to get a new lcd. Are the two fused together?? Any help would be great. Thanks

Repairing Screen

From what I've seen the two can be bought either as a pair which are fused together by what is probably a perimeter double-sided adhesive layer, or separately. The problem is, if the adhesive layer between the two is even slightly damaged while separating them, the new replacement may not seat properly and at best you may get dust collecting between them, and at worst it could apply uneven pressure on one or the other resulting in another broken component at some point down the road. I'd go the safe route and get the pair as one already fused together.
