rename/hide stock messaging app?

Is it possible to rename and hide the stock message app. I use handcent and recently had some texts from my blacklist viewed simply by going to the stock messaging app. I was using the blacklist to hide messages I did not want seen or deleted. I searched but couldn't find an answer.

the only way i know how to hide an app is with pandahome or sweeterhome. there might be an app but i'm not sure. search for "hide" in the market.
