Removing multiple widgets

I have tried the earlier posts of 2010 but nothing is working.

Did you hold the icon until the screen changed to show the trashcan at the top? You won't be able to discard the Apps icon, but the others can be.

removing double widgets

Yes I tried that but all double widgets are still there

It will be removed from the home screen.

why don't you just go to settings/apps/all/home screen and/or home screen config and force stop, then clear cache and clear data. that should wipe everything off the home screen that wasn't there when you got it.

or am i missing something here?
the trash can isn't working properly for whatever reason.
