Redraw + Car/Multimedia docks?

Does anyone know why that EVERYTIME the phone is removed from either dock there is a redraw. Pre-Froyo, Launcher Pro would force close, but now it is a plain redraw on either LP or the stock launcher.

Any tips?

I have read that it is just the way the OS operates. When going from landscape to portrait everything needs to be redrawn ...

I've wondered this as well. You're not alone. Me and someone I work with have Droids and and the OEM car mount. We have the same problem.

well yes, part of it is that everytime the launcher changes orientation, it is restarted. this can mostly be fixed by disabling rotation in the launcher. however, having the keyboard out forces the orientation change. you can force a redraw by basically launching any app in portrait, pulling out the keyboard, and then exiting the program. the docks are similar, just beacause of the magnet.
