Recommended ROM and Radio??

Right now I am running the MR1 radio and Das Bamf 1.7, but I am tired of running old things and my internet has not been working lately (not exactly sure why, its extremely slow). I would like to try GB and MR2 but everyone keeps freaking me out about how I will brick my phone, so what do you guys think I should go with?

mr2 probably will fix the booting issue, but it's gonna take time to have more confidence on that.

I've heard good and bad things about the gingerbread roms. I've stayed away as they seem to have a few bugs since they're hacks to get gb on the thunderbolt with the actual OTA GB update months away if not longer.
