Razr Maxx- one touch dialing from icon on home page

How do I set up icons on my home page for one touch dialing? I was able to do this on my old Droid but have been unable to set it up on the Razr Maxx.

Go into your app tray... tap on widgets, swipe over until you see a green widget that says direct dial, long press it and drag and drop it where you want it, then it will prompt you to select the contact and number you want it to direct dial.
