Question regarding website redirection

I typed in a website name to see if someone already had the domain or if it was available. I get redirected to another company's website. Would this mean that they have already purchased that domain name? Can someone point me in the right direction as far as how to find the owner of that web address? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go to whois.net and type in the domain name there. It can give you the info you're looking for.
