I bought a used Inc for my wife. She liked mine and my son's so much she wanted her own. The one I bought her is rooted and previously had Rom's on it. It is back to stock 2.2 with root access. She doesn't need it and I am afraid that I will mess it up trying to unroot. When the Gingerbread update comes out can we safely update the phone without hurting it. I know it will probably lose root and that is okay. I just don't want it to brick. Sorry to sound so dumb but I haven't gotten into all this yet.

Thanks,
Chris

Yes, update is safe - being rooted will not brick the phone. It will lose root, but you're fine with that. Just make sure the battery is charged when you update. Having the battery die mid-flash is a very bad thing.

DInc with CyanogenMod 6.1 and Invisiblek #28 kernel.
