I have a rooted samsung fascinate and i want to OC my phone. I do not have any custom kernals or roms on the phone. Can I use setcpu to do this or do i need to do anything else to the phone first?

You need to download/install a custom kernel to overclock. SetCPU will regulate the speeds based on various conditions.

Without the custom Kernel, you can only clock your CPU between 125 and 550 mhz.
