Question about a spoof app.......

So im sure this question has popped up more than one occasion and has been answered.......... but im looking for a the lastest news on this. Thanx in advance for any info. Now my question is. . . . . I have a spoof app that spoofs my number for hilarious pranks............when will there be a spoof app for text messaging? Is it illegal? Or is a impossible app to develop?

There isn't any. The closest you can do with texts is there is an app that lets you text yourself but make it look exactly like someone of your choice texted you. You can "prove" to people that the person did text this to you ;]

I'm not aware of any text message spoofing apps, but as far as it being illegal. It doesn't look like it currently is across the board; however, some states do make it illegal.

That is an old article. Caller ID spoofing (as of a few months ago) is illegal if you are doing it for mischievous things (prank calls, mass dialing, ect).
