Quadrant says my phone is slow

Chirodroid

I posted earlier about some problems that I've been having with this phone. One of the replies was to run Quadrant. I did and it came up with a score of 796. Based on the bar graph it provided, it said that a DX should run around an 1100. Maybe this explains why this phone is so slow. Is there any way to fix this?

Do you have it in performance mode? Are you running a live wallpaper? These are the most common causes of a slow X.

I have it in smart mode and I'm running a live wallpaper. My wife has the exact same setup and her phone is MUCH quicker than mine.

I downloaded and ran Quadrant on the DX at the Verizon Store here and it pulled out more than a 1200, quite impressive for an on the shelf device

796 seems really slow, do you have any task killers installed?

When you reboot does your score jump up to 1100? Sometimes I'll hit a 700 or so, then re-run it and it's good. Other times I need to reboot to get it back up to where it should be. I don't run any live wallpapers nor do I use any task killers.

Is yours always slow or just occasionally? Try putting it in airplane mode and running it again. Maybe you're syncing something in the background.

wow, according to quadrant, my droid x is running at 1280! I'm impressed its over the standard for droid x at 1100..... and this is in battery saver mode. It gets 1111 in performance mode....

I get 1330 on my Droid 1 running 2.2. ;)

How long does the battery last?

It is amazing what these little buggers can do. I got 1491 earlier this evening on my Droid 1 running FRG22 (odexed) with ChevyNo1's MV 1.1 GHz (using "on demand" scaling with default sampling rate, up threshold, etc.).

I don't really push my phone very hard, so I've not noticed any issues with it running hot or sucking the battery dry. I just OC'd it this morning though, so I've not had a good chance to assess battery life. Even before OC'ing I had to charge it every night, so as long as I can still make it through the day without it dying on me I'm happy.

To the OP - if you don't have anything special running on your X I'd say it definitely has issues. Worst case maybe have a VZW store blow it away to clean-stock and see if it scores better.

I was able to pull over 1700 score in Quadrant with FRG22 and P3 ulv1200 kernel on my Droid 1. I put the photo so that people would believe it. I was schocked.

Yeah, that's pretty normal for that config. FRG22 and P3 lv1250 kernel on mine and getting ~1760-ish.

Amazing how quick these things are with a bit of overclocking.
