Pseudo Recovery means no Kernels yet, but what about Basebands?

First of all.. huge thanks and props to Koush (and everyone else who may or may not have been involved - not getting into the politics) for all the hard work in getting this going...

I know that as of right now the Recovery process still won't allow for custom kernels to be installed.. but what about the upgraded basebands that were released a few months back for the original Droid (C_01.41.00R and C_01.43.01P). Were these Motorola Droid 1 specific? Are these kernels?.. Can, and if so, how can I install this on the Droid X....

..hoping that this could be a fix or at least an improvement on the current signal issues of the DX.. I know that these basebands improved the signal performance on my Droid significantly..

thanks for the time
