Pros and cons

Yeah I used another charger and using the phone email checking the web and what not even using it as a hotspot I was acually losing power instead of gaining lol with the charger it came with even with heavy use while charging it charges quickly I should get a new car charger to.

There are many chargers online that are rated as 2 amp, etc. However, from doing some reading, it appears that many of those are "iPad compatible" and will work fine in producing 2 amps when an iPad is plugged into it, but if the Note II is plugged into it then it will produce less.

This is why I just bit the bullet and bought my Verizon-branded car charger from the Verizon store. This particular charger was the only one that is listed as being compatible with the Note II. Luckily I do get a corporate discount on accessories from Verizon, so that made the price a bit more palatable.

The Chip built into the battery dictates how much amperage the phone will draw from a charger. When the battery's heat rises the chip will lessen the amperage it will draw. Lipos will explode if the get too hot.

"stroped" of my razr maxx, poo.

From this information, I think I will order some specific chargers. Thanks!

Yeah thats usually best. I bought a car charger from my local Verizon store for $23. Thats about $5 more than a generic one would cost. It might not matter but my Note is so valuable to me that I didnt want to take any chances. $5 is cheap insurance.

Check Verizon's website too as they routinely have stuff on sale.

I always wondered about the ones they sell at the QuickiMarts. 5 bucks for a charger, Yay, I'll take 2. (Did you hear the sarcasm in my voice):D

I just use the universal USB outlet and have never had an issue. I have more problems with cheap cords than anything else. At home I use the USB wall outlet charger (the hardwired in wall, not plug in) and it works fine, but if I use a lower quality cord it won't charge.
