Ringer and notification volume levels not linked?

Is there a way to link the ringer and notification volume levels?
Seems silly if you cant and I like that they can be set separately, but when I need to turn down the volume using volume rocker I want to turn it all down. I want the device to be quieter as a whole.

The only way it seems to me is to tap the volume icon in the notification bar. Personally I like the separate volume controls.

i like the seperate option but when i quiet i want it all quiet unless i choose otherwise. nothing like a email waking a baby when you thought you shooshed it all

Yeah I get it, tapping the volume icon will silence all except your media.
