These kernels were built with Project Elite in mind, but should work with any rom. This is still an early build, but it is stable. It's based off of Peter Alfonso's kernel source with some additional tweaks and modifications to the source.

I plan to do my best to keep these kernels up to date with the needs of Project Elite, and provide a stable alternitive to the original PE kernels.

Features!

SmartMoD governor - This is a governor Erasmux created under the name smarta$$, I chose to rename it for my kernels. I have tweaked the settings of this governor and optimized it for maximum performance with great battery life. This is my prefered governor but interactive is set as default.

New Interactive governor - Pete added this one to the source, I tweaked it to require less of a load from the cpu to ramp up the clock speed. A great choice for default governor if you don't need to worry about battery life.

New and old compcache support - I include both ramzswap (old) and zram (new) in the zip. Zram is a thanks to Pete, ramzswap is a thanks to CVPCS.

NOOP Scheduler - I find this scheduler to be the fastest in my kernels so it is set as default.

Disclaimer: These kernels are provided as is, neither I nor DroidForums nor anybody in between will be held responsible for what you choose to do with them. Use them at your own risk!

I'm not going to be releasing any further versions of this kernel. I am putting my time into a kernel based off AOSP rather than other dev's work. I am also contributing to a up coming theme inspired by my first theme with the help of a couple well known and talented themers. This will keep me pretty busy with that and life so I will not have the time to update these. They will remain up until I release the new ones, source for these is on github if you wish to work on them.

Okay, so I loaded up the 1000lv one yesturday, all was well then all of a sudden my phone started dropping 3g randomly, even when I'm just browsing the net. It wasn't even after a phone call. Then it got unresponsive and unusable. You think this is a coincidence or kernel related?

Ok this IS an issue with the kernel and will be added to the bugs.

I had a similar experience shortly after loading up PE with my kernel, (I'm currently on the 1100 using smartmod btw) I hadn't heard of any similar problems from any of the beta testers so assumed it was just my phone.

I will be working on getting this fixed asap, a few of you who are getting this problem be willing to test when I think I have it fixed?

smartmod is the same as interactive except for 1 difference. when the screen is off, it limits the maximum clock speed the phone will be able to use, but as soon as the screen comes on, it ramps the clock speed up so the phone is responsive.

interactive only pushes the max limit you set whenever the phone needs it or you touch the screen.

SmartMoD ia a governor Erasmux created with intentions to improve battery life without suffering performance loss. The gov is based on interactive, but he added additional features to it. He added a way to set the maximum clock speed for when the screen is off, set the increments for the governor to ramp up and down along with many other features. He built it for the Hero but with modifications it works great on the Droid.

It basically takes care of what setting kernel profiles in set cpu does, but on a kernel level so the app doesn't have to go through the process of requesting SU permissions then changing the values...it does it automatically.

I have seen an improved battery life and it has been reported by others as well...hope this helps
