Problems with Backup Assistant

I'm having problems using Verizon's backup assistant. It seemed to work ok before getting 2.2 ota but now I have 2 versions of the Backup Assistant (1.0 and 2.2) and I can't backup anything and can't remove either of them. I can update my contacts online but can't get the changes on the phone. Anyone else having problems with it?

Why anybody wants to use this is beyond me. You have a Google phone. Your contacts are stored in your gmail account. You don't need this Verizon back up.
