Problems setting my default home launcher...

So, I use ADW Launcher EX. It loads fine on startup, but when I run the Home Manager or Home Switcher apps...both my stock launcher and ADW are still running. I want to stop my default launched from loading to save some speed/battery life. But, it will not let me set a default. Both Home Manager and Switcher won't set it to default. And holding my home key just brings up my recently launched apps...

Any help?

Also...I have already gone to both my stock launcher and ADW in Manage Applications to try and clear the default. But, they both say no default is set.

I had the same problem so I wrote a simple app to fix it.
