problem with the weather app

I was trying to get the weather to change to my current location, and when I was doing that I deleted all the locations that I had saved, including the current location selection. So now I can still add places, but they don't show up on the main screen widget like the current location did. How can I get the current location to show back up on my phone again?

I was having a similar problem with weather and also my default location to find local businesses on maps was not working.

Someone on another forum thread said the following "be sure you have gps turned on (settings>location & security) and that you have "use my location" turned on for searches and whatnot (settings>privacy)". I did the above and I also sent a text msg to set default location to google. Took a 200 mile road trip and suddenly it started working. I am not sure exactly which of the above worked unfortunately.
