Problem Going Back to Stock

I am going to be more than likely getting a Certified Like New Droid and I need to go back to stock.

I used ROM Manager to go back to 2.0.1 (unrooted), and it was going through all the steps. I'm getting an error:
Status 7 Installation aborted.

What I did was I selected the 2.0.1, did a backup of the current ROM, then it installed the 2.0.1 ROM. I got to a screen that had a Triangle with a ! in the middle, and a little Droid guy below it. I waited a couple of minutes and thought my install didn't work, so I hit the power button and rebooted. So, apparently I didn't wait long enough maybe?? Is there something I need to do to be able to go back to stock 2.0.1 again?

Help!

If you cant get rom manager to allow you to get to stock. flash a new rom (ie ud 9.0) then unroot from there (you can unroot using droidmod from that point.

i am going to assume you know how to install the zip file in clockwork recovery mode right.

I just sent you a PM. I'm re-flashing the ROM that I was using and backed up right before I tried to unroot. I'll go from there. Check your PM if you can.

I just checked out the guide you gave me to unroot. I'm downloading the update.zip and have gone back to SPRecovery. I'm absolutely fine with everything except the step 4B. It seems like it's all done in step 4A already?

Check to see if the ninja is gone. If not reboot into recovery and then follow 4b. Sorry.

4a is if you have sprecovery
If you have not installed sprecovery then use 4b
Ok, makes sense. I have to meet my daughter for lunch in a few minutes. I put the zip file on my SD card, renamed it to update and when I get back will install.

Did that Step 4A and Step 4B sort of confuse you a bit too?
