Problem connect to pc

I just bought a bionic and tried to root it tonight only notice there's a problem

When i connected to my pc, my pc didn't reconize the bionic but it'll still charge it

In settings i checked if i have the debug mode on which it is so i just don't get why my pc did recognize the bionic

The phone is stock on 5.5.886
I can't seem to update it yet also

Thanx in advance for any help

Try hitting the USB icon on your phone when plugged in and change it to USB Mass Storage, sounds like your in charge only mode.

Edit: Actually if your trying to root I remember hearing people saying putting into PC mode or whatever worked for them, didn't have a problem with that though.

Might Also be a USB cable issue. There have been issues raised before with some aftermarket cables charging, but not allowing data transfer.

You'll find mixed signals all over the internet on this, but in some cases only Moto cables will work. I can ALMOST guarantee you're trying this with a USB cable that you owned prior to owning the Bionic? If so, just because, try switching it out and see if it makes a difference...
