Probably a stupid question but I need help

How do I unlock the Droid just in portrait mode without opening the keyboard? Do I have to change a setting or did I accidentally change something? I've tried touching the screen, using the softkeys and everything else I can think of to get the screen to unlock but so far nothing. Help?

The Droid apparently does not normally operate, on the home screens, in portrait mode without the dock or a magnet behind it. There is an app called dockrunner or similar that may help.

Actually, the lock button is the power button on top in portrait mode. You do not need to slide the keyboard out nor need an app in order to 'unlock' your phone while in portrait mode.

I believe this was done to avoid accidentally turning on the screen for pocket users tapping the screen, much like how on the iPhone, you press the home button first before you can unlock the phone.
